Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets is hopeful that that the Catalans will succeed in their attempts to lure Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas back to Nou Camp this summer.
The Spain international left Barcelona for the Premier League side at the age of 16 and is once again being linked with a return to his boyhood club this summer.
Reports on Monday suggested that the London club are finally ready prepared to sell their skipper, and Busquets admitted he wants to see a deal completed soon.
“Every year it’s the same story. This year, however, a move seems to be closer than ever before. I am hopeful that this will be the final year of the transfer saga and that we will have him in our team soon,” Busquets said, according to Sport.
“The more better players we have at Barcelona, the better it is for the team and coach. You need a large squad when you play in so many competitions. I am sure that Cesc is compatible with all the other midfielders.”
Barcelona are reportedly preparing an improved €35 million (£31.2m) offer for the 24-year-old midfielder, who has allegedly been omitted from all promotional material concerning the launch of Arsenal’s away strip, heightening speculation that a move could be closer than ever.
