Nyanza will be hoping that their second shot at playing in the top flight bears some fruit when they take on Esperance in the second division playoffs first leg this afternoon.

Nyanza were eliminated last year in the playoffs and will be keen on a good result in the first leg at Mumena stadium.

The other semi-final will pit SEC Academy against Espoir. The two sides are playing in the playoffs for the first time.

SEC Academy was defeated in the quarter-finals but their opponents Sorwathe had fielded a non-eligible player and were disqualified. The return legs will be played on Wednesday.

The winners of the two ties will be promoted to the Primus national league. Musanze and Muhanga were relegated to the second division last season.
