ABAKALIKI—THE Registrar, Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State, Mr. Gabriel Chukwu, yesterday called on members of the public, including those seeking admission into the institution, to be wary of false admission agents who go about obtaining money fraudulently under the guise of offering them admission.

The Registrar made the call in Abakaliki while briefing news men on the recent developments recorded in the institution.
He said:  “The attention of Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State has been drawn to the internet bloggers advertisement, calling on people to pay the sum of five thousand five hundred naira (N5,000) into an account in Guarantee Trust Bank for admission to the university.

“That website or internet blogger site is fake and fraudulent. The university has not mandated any person, agent or organization to collect money from anybody on its behalf or pay money to any bank account for purposes of admission.

“The general public is hereby advised to be wary of scam artistes who go about obtaining money fraudulently from people under the guise of offering them admission into Federal University.”

He noted that the Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, was still processing admission to the university and that the outcome from JAMB would soon be made public.
