Three corpses of persons suspected to have been swept away by the flood that characterised a heavy rainfall on Sunday in Ibadan, Oyo State capital were on Monday recovered.
Our correspondent learnt that the corpses were found floating on a stream near the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on the Old Ife Road.
Residents of the area believed that the corpses were swept to the location from other parts of Ibadan since they found it difficult to identify them.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the corpses were those of two children and a woman.
They were said to have been retrieved and deposited at an undisclosed mortuary.
About eight vehicles of different brands were also said to have been submerged by the flood during the rain that lasted several hours in the state capital.
Some people, who thronged the area to see the corpses, were still discussing the incident in hush tones several hours after they had been retrieved.
