Luanda — Angola is considered as an example for steadiness and tenacity in struggle for independence, security, peace and people’s well-being.
This was said to Angop on Monday in Luanda by the East Timorese President, José Ramos Horta, while addressing the extraordinary solemn session of National Assembly, convened in the ambit of his four-day visit to Angola.
Timorese statesman expressed his satisfaction at addressing the National Assembly, which was democratically elected and a testimony of the path pursued by Angola.
According to him, “Angola is an African power, whose history during the last decades constitutes an example of determination and tenacity in the struggle for independence, security and peace, essential conditions for the economic development and improvement of living conditions and well-being of Angolans.
According to president, Angola is a driving force for regional development, a power whose the experience and maturity will continue having decisive impact in the stability of the continent.
The Head of State of Eeast Timor considered Angolan as positive influence in the independence processes of Zimbabwe and Namibia, as well as democratisation of South Africa and release of Nelson Mandela.
