Ipswich chief executive Simon Clegg had last week threatened legal action against Swansea over alleged unpaid payments due to the club over the loan of Tamas Priskin at the end of last season. Clegg alleged that Swansea had tried to change the details of the loan agreement when Priskin suffered an injury and then stopped payments.
Neil Taylor Taylor has made three appearances for Wales

Swansea City have rejected an undisclosed offer from Newcastle for defender Neil Taylor.

The 22-year-old left-back was a key part of the Swansea side which won promotion to the Premier League in May.

Newcastle lodged a bid earlier this month but Swans chairman Huw Jenkins is keen to keep hold of the youngster.

Jenkins told the club’s website: “I spoke to Neil’s agent today and he understands the situation. He has an important role to play at this club.”

Taylor made 32 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side last season, including the 4-2 play-off final win over Reading at Wembley.

He is now expected to stay at the Liberty Stadium as the Welsh club prepare for their first season in the top flight since 1982.

“We recognise Neil as a young, talented Welsh player,” Jenkins added.

“We brought him here from Wrexham and have helped nurture his development. He adjusted very well to the Championship last season and we look forward to seeing him play a big role as we enter the Premier League.

“That is why we have rejected Newcastle’s bid. We have a big challenge ahead in the Premier League, but together we can maintain the progress made by this club over the last few years.”
