Sochaux midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has claimed that Liverpool have expressed an interest in taking him from Ligue 1 to Anfield this summer.
Kenny Dalglish is in the process of rebuilding his first-team squad at Anfield and has already spent big on Jordan Henderson to strengthen the midfield, with Blackpool playmaker Charlie Adam and Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing also heavily linked with a move to Merseyside.
Now 21-year-old Boudabouz, who played for Algeria against England in last year’s World Cup, has suggested that Liverpool have been in contact, although he has no desire to force through a move.
“The Liverpool interest is solid,” Boudebouz told L’Est Republicain.
“There has been contact but we have to take our time, meet the chairman and remain calm. I want to sit down and discuss things when we return for pre-season training.
“If there is an important offer, we will not be able to turn it down.
“I don’t wish to leave Sochaux but if there is an offer on the table, I will think about it.”
