Former AFC Leopards secretary general Robert Asembo has declared his intention to vie for committee member’s seat in the forthcoming football elections.
While welcoming the August 13 date set by IEB as the day of the elections, Asembo said the announcement is a big sigh of relief for football stakeholders, fans, players and administrators after a lengthy spell of suspense. “This is good news to all Kenyans and we hope IEB will stick to their programme,” said Asembo. “I will be running for the seat of a committee member.”
He also asked the board to release the list of the clubs to take part in the elections and also intimidated that the date should not be changed anymore. “We do not want anymore anxiety since this will only cause more harm to our football,” said Asembo, adding that despite the date being pushed so far, it is time to get rid of poor management that has recently bedevilled football.
