The International criminal court is to rule on Monday on whether to issue an arrest warrant for Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi over possible crimes against humanity.

The court, which is based in The Hague in The Netherlands, will announce its decision at 11 GMT on Monday, just one hundred days after the start of Nato’s operations in Libya.

ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo has asked for warrants for Kadhafi, his son Seif al-Islam, and the head of Libyan intelligence, Abdullah al-Senussi.

The prosecutor accuses all three of murder and persecution in suppressing the Libyan uprising which began in February.

Three months after French jets flew the first missions over Eastern Libya, Nato is still pounding targets across the country in what has become a war fought on multiple fronts, but which some say is at stalemate.
