Kismayo — The Al shabaab fighters on Monday apprehended people in Kismayo town in southern Somalia accusing them of passing secrets of their leaders.
Officials of Al shabaab said that at least ten people had been detained after search and security crackdowns in the neighborhoods of the port town of Kismayo, about 500 kilometers south of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
Moallim Harun, one of Al shabaab officials told Al shabaab run radio Andalus that investigations are right now underway. He said anyone is found guilty of espionage related activities.
Last Thursday, two unidentified helicopters launched aerial attacks on Al shabaab base camp in Qandal area, about 10 km south of Kismayo. At least two fighters were confirmed but the casualties may go up.
