Tottenham are set to renew their interest in former England captain, David Beckham, and lure the LA Galaxy midfielder back to the Premier League once his contract expires in November.
According to News of the World, the 36-year-old believes he still has two years left in his playing career and is eager to make the switch from the USA make to his home country.
Harry Redknapp’s side failed in their attempts to secure a short-term loan deal for the former Manchester united star in January, with the MLS outfit unwilling to allow one of their prized assets to compete for the White Hart Lane side, during a brief spell at Spurs Lodge to enhance his fitness ahead of the US season.
The Spurs boss, having missed out on a swoop for the veteran midfielder, expressed his willingness to have Beckham back at White Hart Lane if the opportunity arose.
“I think he would like to see what the future holds for him,” he told reporters in February.
“He’s a busy lad, his life must be unbelievable, but when you get a lad who wants to come here and train every day when he could be sitting at home having a month’s rest, it tells you everything about him. He loves football.
“He’s been great to have around the place and he’s just a top-class bloke, a proper good lad.
“He’s welcome back any time. I think he would have brought something to the team if we could have got him on loan.”
