Enugu Rangers recorded their third away win with a 1-0 victory at Plateau United Saturday to move into fifth place in the NPL.

Rangers have now recorded 46 points from 28 matches, while Plateau sink even deeper in relegation trouble. The Jos club remain third from bottom with 27 points from 29 matches.

A second-half strike by midfielder Stephen Adah was all the ‘Flying Antelopes’ needed to earn maximum points at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos.

Rangers, who at the start of the season struggled to get results away from home, have now won three away games – against crown FC, 3SC and now Plateau United.

In Kano, hosts Pillars grabbed the match winner at the death against bottom club JUTH of Jos through former youth international Mohammed Shagari.

The hard-fought home win shot Pillars to third place on the table on 50 points.

However, JUTH cried foul over their loss.

“Referee E.A Obisesan from Oyo cost us this match as he added five minutes stoppage time twice and only stopped the match in the 98th minute after the home team scored their goal,” said JUTH spokesman Olusola Alao.

Lobi Stars also climbed two spots to sixth after a comfortable 3-0 home win over Heartland.

Super Eagles invitee Moses Bunde opened scoring from the penalty spot in the 51st minute after a Lobi player was hacked down inside the box.

Lobi doubled their lead on 66 minutes through Tony Okpoto, before they wrapped up this encounter late in the game.
