Former Atletico Madrid midfielder Diego Simeone has weighed in on the ongoing transfer saga surrounding striker Sergio Aguero, saying that other than Barcelona‘s Lionel Messi, no player is too good to be sold.

The 41-year-old, who has been named as the new coach of Racing in his home country, was speaking to Marca in relation to the future of the Chelsea and Juventus transfer target.

“Other than Messi, no player is indispensable. I am fed up with the idea that when someone wants to go from one club to another, that you have to let him go,” he said.

“However, the club should get as much money as is possible to benefit them.”

Juventus expect to meet with Aguero’s agents next week to discuss a transfer with Atletico keen to resolve the future of their star striker once and for all within the next fortnight.

Interestingly, Messi has reportedly stated his desire for his compatriot to join him at Barcelona.
