Louis Saha has revealed the extent he has been forced to go to in order to regain fitness ahead of the new Premier League campaign after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury that ended his season prematurely.
The Everton striker scored 10 goals for the Toffees last season but his season came to an early end after picking up the injury in a 2-1 victory over Fulham in April.
Saha has endured an injury-plagued career, particularly during his time at Manchester United, where he spent four years before moving to Everton in 2008 for an undisclosed fee.
However, the Frenchman is now well on the road to recovery and revealed that whilst usually he is not a fan of pre-season training, this year he is looking forward do it. Â
“I’m sleeping in an oxygen tent like Michael Jackson did to boost the healing process and recovery after training,” he said, according to the Daily Star.
“I do it because no-one plays forever and I want to make the most of the career that I have left.
“I hate pre-season but I love to get back training to touch the ball again.”
Everton start their season on August 13 with a trip to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham.
