Zambia: Govt Opens More Bank Accounts for Chiluba’s Funeral

24 June 2011 The ministers of tourism in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region have joined Zambians in mourning the second president of the Republic of Zambia Frederick Chiluba, who died on Saturday in Lusaka. The ministers, who were in Livingstone for a regional meeting, said they were saddened by the untimely death of Dr Chiluba. In a statement released in Livingstone yesterday, the ministers described Dr Chiluba as an illustrious son of Zambia, SADC and Africa as a whole.

The Government has opened additional bank accounts for public contributions to the State funeral for second president of the Republic of Zambia, Frederick Chiluba.

Information Minister Ronnie Shikapwasha said in a statement yesterday that additional funeral fund accounts had been opened at four commercial banks.

Lieutenant General Shikapwasha said the new accounts were at Finance Bank (account 0014983815004), Zanaco (account number 0030210000008758), Stanbic Bank Zambia (account number 0140035538301), and Standard Chartered Bank on account number 0100712938300.

Gen Shikawasha said the new bank accounts were in addition to account number 0013723005960 at Bank of Zambia.
