The 2011 Women’s Football World Cup will kick-off in Germany on June 26. In front of a sold out crowd in the Berlin Olympic Stadium, the German team will start their campaign to defend their title won four years ago in China.
The Goethe-Institut South-Africa will screen all matches of the German team live in Johannesburg. The highlight will be the match against the Super Falcons from Nigeria on June 30.
For the first time the Women’s World Cup will be held in Germany. From June 26 to July 17, the German football fans hope for another summer fairytale, as experienced during the 2006 Men’s World Cup.
Out of 126 teams that started in the qualifiers 16 made it to the finals. Africa will be represented by Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
The team of the Goethe-Institut would be happy to welcome you. Drinks and Snacks will be available for purchase.

June 26, from 5pm
Germany vs Canada
June 30, 8:45pm
Germany vs Nigeria
July 05, 8:45pm
Germany vs France
The Goethe-Institut will open its doors one hour before kick-off.
