Arsenal have reignited their interest in Velez Sarsfield‘s attacking midfielder Ricky Alvarez, according to The Daily Mail.
It had been exclusively revealed by Goal.com that the South American outfit intend to keep their player, unless an offer of around £12 million was to arrive.
Negotiations were thought to have reached a standstill last month, when the Gunners were believed to be unwilling to match the Argentine club’s valuation of their asset.
But now, according to the report, the north London club are once again interested in securing the services of the 23-year-old, and are currently leading the race to sign the player with Inter, Roma, Malaga, Sevilla and Schalke also keen on his signature.
Alvarez is known for his versatility, as he can play right across the midfield or double up as a second striker.
