Carroll called cops and all three were charged with breaching the Arab emirate’s strict morality laws and flung into a grim communal jail on 30 days’ remand. Danielle, from Hull, and New Zealander Carroll – an HSBC executive – told officials they were only kissing.
But their claims were rejected by Dubai’s Misdemeanours Court. Danielle got a month’s jail for sex outside marriage, followed by deportation. Gomez and Carroll, in his 30s, also got a month.
A court source said: “It’s another example of Westerners failing to respect our Muslim laws. Bed-hopping may be accepted in the UK but it’s illegal here.”
Danielle, once a lapdancer in Hull and at Spearmint Rhino in Birmingham, may seek bail while she appeals.
