Israel-Based Goalie Stephen Ahorlu Eyes Black Stars Return

23 June 2011 Rwanda put up another brave performance but were ultimately beaten 1-0 by Uruguay at the death in their 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup Group C game on Wednesday.

Israel-based goalkeeper Stephen Arholu is eyeing a return to the Ghana national team after a year absence.

Arholu, 22, sat on the bench during the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals but has been overlooked by new coach Goran Stevanovic.

With names being considered as a replacement for Richard Kingson, the Hapoel Ashkelon gloves man says he is open for a shot at the position.

“I’m still playing actively and therefore if they call me I will definitely come and help my country,” Ahorlu said.

“I’m surely available for any challenge and so when the coach gives me an opportunity, I will never hesitate for a minute and so who what I’ve got under my sleeves.”
