Maputo — The Mozambican and South Korean capital cities, Maputo and Seoul, are to cooperate and share experiences in urban development, transport, natural disaster management, information technology, trade and investment and tourism.
According to official sources in Maputo Municipal Council, an agreement to this effect was signed in Seoul on 13 June, during the visit by the Mayor of Maputo, David Simango, to South Korea.
During his talks with Simango, the Mayor of Seoul, Oh Se-Hoon, said that his government is willing to receive municipal staff from Maputo for training and capacity building. He asked Simango to identify the areas of greatest relevance for this cooperation.
During his visit, Simango also met with the Deputy Minister for the Knowledge Economy, Park Young-joon, who promised to identify Korean companies that might wish to invest in Mozambique.
