Over 50,000 Somali refugees have so far this year been registered at the Dadaab refugee camp, double the number registered last year.
According to UNCHR Somalia Representative Bruno Geddo this trend will continue in coming months due to drought in the horn of Africa region.
Geddo says the UNHCR is working towards cutting down the number of refugees streaming into Kenya and other countries by providing economic assistance rather than relief.
