RESIDENTS of Ayaura community in Abaji Area Council of the FCT were on Saturday night thrown into mourning, when a 47-year-old man, Mr. Francis Ejime, slumped and died after returning from watching a football match.

Eldest son of the deceased, Mathew Ejime, said the incident happened at about 10:23 pm, after his father watched the European League football match close to their house.

“My father received a phone call and died while trying to enter his room,” the son said.

Mathew said he immediately alerted neighbours when he saw his father lying on the ground and he was immediately rushed to a nearby clinic, where a doctor confirmed him dead.

He said his father was healthy and not suffering from any ailment at the time he died.
