England striker Danny Welbeck says playing alongside Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has helped him to become a matured attacker.
Welbeck spent last season on loan at Sunderland from Manchester United when he played in the Black Cats’ attack with the charismatic Ghanaian player.
Wlebeck says he was on a fast learning curve, playing alongside Ghanaian team-mate Asamoah Gyan and senior striker Darren Bent until he was sold and.
“My main aim was to go to Sunderland and get minutes under my belt in the Premier League and I did that,” Welbeck said.
”I was playing with top strikers, Darren Bent was there at the start and then Asamoah came as well.
”I learnt a lot from Darren in training, seeing him scoring goals every single session.
”He was hungry to score. It was the same with Asamoah as well and I’ll always take that into my learning progress.”
