Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to end their chase of West Ham United‘s Scott Parker.
The 30-year-old midfielder had been linked with a move to Spurs for several months, and the Hammers’ relegation at the end of last season only proved to significantly increase his chances of leaving the east London club.
However, the News of the World claims that a £10 million price tag coupled with the player’s age will see Spurs shy away from making a move to land the player.
It is believed that even the potential sale of Luka Modric – who has declared that he would like to leave White Hart Lane – may not be enough for manager Harry Redknapp to move for Parker, unless West Ham reduce their asking price on their asset.
Turkish side Fenerbahce have been reported to be interested in acquiring the services of the former Newcastle United man, but it is thought that the player himself wants to continue plying his trade in England.
West Ham co-owner David Gold has also expressed hope that West Ham may be able to hold on to Parker, despite having signed Kevin Nolan from Newcastle United.
