Swansea forward Scott Sinclair is ready to start for England Under-21s in their must-win game against the Czech Republic, insisting that he is able to perform in the big games.

Sinclair scored 27 goals last season for Swansea as they secured promotion to the Premier League, and believes his Championship play-off experience will be key for Stuart Pearce’s side in their final group game of the European Under-21 championship, with victory essential if they are to progress in the tournamnent.

“Personally, the more the pressure game for me, the better I play,” Sinclair told reporters.

“Back at Swansea, the semi-final with Nottingham Forest I did okay, and obviously in the final I did a bit more.

“Adding more pressure to the game, I think it helps you as a player.”

Sinclair says he thrives in the big games, and there is no question how he will approach the match.

“It’s one of those we can’t afford to lose or draw, because we go home, so we have to win,” he said.

“It makes it a bit more exciting to go into the last game making sure we have to win.

“I feel like really in form as a player and coming off that and scoring such and such goals for Swansea, and winning the play-off final and bringing that buzz along.”

Sinclair is hopeful of starting against the Czechs after Danny Rose failed to impress on the left of a three-man attack in the previous two games. The former Chelsea youngster says he has spoken to Pearce about his frustrations.

“I have obviously spoken to the gaffer in the first game and had little words and points of view,” he said.

“But he picks the team and all I can do is work 100 per cent in training and hopefully get the shout.”
