Our population is expected to hit 65.9 million by the year 2030 according to the national coordinating agency on population and development. Samuel Ogolla from NCDA says even if the country’s fertility rate drops from the current 4.6 births per woman to 3.7, the population will still grow at the same rate it is growing now because the number of women is also rising. Kenya’s population has more than tripled over the last few decades forcing the government to look for new ways of controlling it.
