Lubango — Sol Bank expects to release in coming months USD 34 million to national peasants, in the ambit of the “Campaign Agricultural Credit”, promoted by the Angolan government.
This was said to Angop on Wednesday in Lubango city by the director for Sol Bank micro-credit area, Carla Manuel.
She said that USD 19 million will be released in a first phase in programmes to start in the provinces of programas Lunda Sul, Lunda Norte and Moxico, as well as reinforce the programme in the regions that have already benefited the credit.
According to her, Sol Bank has already implanted the campaign agricultural credit in 15 provinces out of the country’s 18 provinces.
Carla Manuel said that the bank intends to cover the whole national territory in 2011, so as to accomplish the government programme aimed for the eradication of poverty.
On Tuesday the managing board of Sol Bank presented the referred credit to 350 peasants in Huíla commune in Lubango city, a ceremony which was attended by the chairman of the executive commission of the Sol Bank, Coutinho Nobre Miguel.
