Sunderland winger Stephane Sessegnon believes there is more to come from him next season after a solid start to his career in the north east.

The Benin international moved to the club from PSG in January in a £6 million move but the winger found the going tough in the early weeks.

His form improved towards the end of the season and he scored three goals in the Black Cats’ final five games.

The winger admitted that he found adjusting to the rigours of the Premier League difficult but there is plenty more to come from him next season.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m satisfied with my performance even if it shows only very little of what I’m capable of bringing to the team.

“But I’d just arrived, I had to adapt which wasn’t easy but now I think there is the possibility to do better.”

Although primarily a winger Sessegnon had to fill in as an auxiliary striker at the end of the season because of the injury crisis that hit the club and he impressed with his performances in leading the line.
