Manchester City have offered Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez an alternative to Barcelona after putting together a bid worth €30 million (£26m), according to Sky Sport 24.
The Chilean has been strongly linked with moving to Barcelona in the summer, with the player stating that the Spanish and European champions would be a “splendid” place for him to further his career.
However, talks between the two clubs are believed to have reached a stalemate as Udinese are planning to honour their valuation of Sanchez, which Goal.com exclusively revealed in May to be worth €30m (£26m).
And City, who have been credited with an interest in Sanchez already, will move in quickly to secure the player with a £26m proposal, hoping to beat the Champions League winners to the player’s signature.
Reports in Italy suggest that City will meet with Udinese on Saturday.
