Keren — The inhabitants of Adi-Deri’e, Golagul, Sabrabeja, Adi-Mana and Adi-Kurba in the Anseba region highlighted the importance of community-based sanitation campaign in ensuring public health.
Reports indicated that the inhabitants built toilets in their respective homes.
Mr. Kiros Sereke from the Health Ministry’s branch in the region said that the task of ensuring public health is being given top priority by the Government.
The head of environmental sanitation in the region, Mr. Habteslasie Yohannes, indicated that the program is aimed at reducing the spread of diseases resulting from lack of hygiene.
Exemplary villages in maintaining environmental sanitation received certificates and 20,000 Nakfa.
