Habero — The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, stressed the significance of introducing modern irrigation system in efforts to achieve food security in Habero sub-zone.
In the course of a visit to the sub-zone to observe the construction of water diversion scheme and wells, he emphasized the need for exerting unremitting endeavors to put agricultural sites along the banks of Anseba region under modern cultivation.
Mr. Gergis further indicated that development activities are underway around Filfil and Fiza, and that water diversion scheme has already been constructed, in addition to the digging of 3 new wells.
Calling on farmers to strive for obtaining bumper harvest, the Administrator commended the active participation of farmers in promoting modern irrigation system.
