Tricia Esiegbe, hubby escapes death

Star actress and creator of TV talk show Boldface,Tricia Esiegbe-Kerry and her husband escaped death by whiskers when a driver who lost control of his vehicle slammed into the couple’s car.

The accident which happened last Friday on the Lekki, axis of Lagos according to the actress left the family car, a Nissan Altima salon, damaged beyond repairs.

Narrating her experience to this writer over the phone, Tricia whose new TV talk show Pradah is billed for cinema premiere on Sunday said “ It all started like a dream. My husband and I had stopped at the third roundabout at Lekki, some where well off the busy road when this driver who lost control of his vehicle jumped across the road divider and headed towards us.

I was in the in the front passenger seat of the car and couldn’t save myself, but my husband who was trying to take some things from the boot of the car was lucky to have looked up few moments before the other car slammed into ours”.

“What followed was like a movie scene”, the actress continued.

“My husband had just a few seconds to jump clear before the car slammed into ours. As for me, I was also lucky to have jumped out before the force of the slam shoved the Nissan Altima into a nearby pond. My head and chest hit the steering and it hurt real bad. The car was damaged beyond repairs ”.

“As soon as help came, I was rushed off to the hospital and for the remaining part of the weekend, I couldn’t move head and couldn’t talk. I thank God that I am alive to chat with you on phone today” an elated Tricia gushed.

On what happened to the premiere of her new movie, Tricia said the premiere arrangement is on course.

“God has been my strength other wise, the premiere wouldn’t and everything about the movie would not have been possible, Tricia revealed.

From the very first day we began shooting the talk show, it has been one problem or the other. The strings of problems followed us to London when we went to edit. And the accident is the height of the problems. But I thank God that we have surpassed all the seeming temptations and the premiere is here”.
