Wagner Ribeiro, the agent of Santos sensation Neymar, has voiced his opinion that the 19-year-old attacker resembles Barcelona‘s Lionel Messi.
The Brazil international has developed into one of the most highly-rated players around following his rise to prominence in his homeland, and is continually linked with a move to Europe, with Chelsea thought to be among the front-runners for his signature.
“Neymar is exactly like Messi in my opinion. He will soon be the best player in the world. He is a player unlike any other player. He is only 19-years-old, but all the big clubs already want him,” said Ribeiro to La Cope.
Ribeiro then responded to the rumours linking Neymar with a move to Spanish titans Real Madrid, and made it clear that the Copa del Rey winners have not yet been in touch.
“Real Madrid have not contacted me or Neymar. Nobody has called us to discuss a transfer. He just wants to focus on winning the Copa Libertadores now. There is too much at stake to talk about a transfer.”
Santos take on Penarol in the final of South America’s elite tournament. They first meet the Uruguayans on June 15 before hosting them seven days later for the second-leg.
