Obour to run for President of MUSIGA

10 years ago, hiplife icon, Obour made his way into the Ghanaian music industry as a fearless warrior in which he fantasized about what it would be like to lead people.

That fantasy may come closer to reality if Obour is declared winner as the president of MUSIGA.

There has been news going round for some time the Obour fits the position of MUSIGA president because of his social responsibilities he undertakes well and the genuine love he has for the Ghanaian music industry.

In a statement e-mailed to Ghana Music.com, Obour said, “Yes, I am the next President of the Musicians Union of Ghana. It’s time we take our destiny into our own hands. We need a young person who has the energy and determination to slave for the better of our industry. I am doing it already but I guess I need everybody on board hence my decision to run”.

Obour will be contesting against Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Nana Tuffour and Willi Roi.

Obour told Ghana Music.com he is announcing his candidacy through us. The MUSIGA national congress will take in Tamale from 16 – 18 August which is expected to attract over 130 delegates and witnesses.

The current president of MUSIGA is Mrs Diana Hopeson, who promised to occupy the presidency seat for only one four year term and will be handing over to the winner in mid August.

MUSIGA is the national recognized body for Ghanaian musicians.
