2 June 2011 Maputo — Mozambican President Armando Guebuza on Wednesday called for greater involvement of all Mozambicans in reforestation and tree planting programmes, in order to mitigate the effects of environmental degradation. Speaking at a rally in the Imala administrative post, in Muecate district, in the northern province of Nampula, Guebuza stressed that forests and trees help to purify the air and create conditions for a better and healthier life. Trees also help in the formation of clouds, and thus indirectly provide the rainfall which Mozambicans need to increase their agricultural production
