Eagles’ coach Samson Siasia said that his team is aiming to beat Ethiopia at home in their Nations Cup qualifiers on Sunday. The coach revealed that their famous win against Argentina Wednesday night in Abuja has heightened the team’s confidence.

“The win over Argentina has boosted the boys’ confidence ahead of the game against Ethiopia. Everyone is looking forward to a good outing and our aim is to win all the rest of the group games,”

“I’m happy that the team is beginning to emerge and with more quality games like this we would have more confidence to approach competitive matches” said the former Eagles striker.

He said that it was highly thrilling to have record a wide margin win over Argentina, after suffering defeat in their hands as a player and a coach three times.

“Honestly I’m happy with the win against Argentina. It was my first win and we did it in a grand style,” Siasia sounded, adding jokingly that the score-line was a reflection of the many times he had lost against Argentina. As a player he lost 2-1 to Argentina at the 1994 World Cup, as coach he lost again to the Argies 2-0 at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2005 and finally 1-0 at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
