SCARLETT JOHANSSON – SEAN PENN ENDS RELATIONSHIP WITH SCARLETT JOHANSSON?

Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have reportedly ended their relationship.

The reasons behind the split are now known, but the pair – who have a 24 year age gap between them – sparked rumours of a rift when Scarlett did not attend the Cannes Film Festival premiere of his movie ‘Tree of Life’.

A source said the 26-year-old beauty – who last year split with Ryan Reynolds – was instead concentrating on her work on comic book movie ‘The Avengers’, reprising her part as the Black Widow which she first played in ‘Iron Man 2’.

Just last month it was reported Scarlett had “essentially moved in over the last few weeks” with ‘Milk’ actor Sean, with the pair staying “at home whenever they can”.

Scarlett first struck up a friendship with Sean, 50, when she was considering flying to Haiti to help people affected by the two earthquakes in January 2010.

A source explained: “Scarlett first reached out to Sean when she was planning to visit Haiti with Oxfam.”
