Rwanda will field three athletes in the two-day East Africa Athletics Championship which starts today in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
Potien Ntawuyirushintege will compete in 800m and 1500m, Robert Kajuka will compete in the 5000m while Said Hamis Ndayisaba will race in 100m and 200m races.
For Ndayisaba, the championship is a good preparation ground for the 10th All Africa Games slated to rum from September 3-18 in Maputo.
“It is a good avenue to test ourselves ahead of the All Africa Games,” the sprinter said.
Other countries in the fray include Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Mozambique, Botswana, Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, the island of Comoros and hosts Tanzania.
