Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios says his future could be decided in the next few days.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club after losing his place in the starting XI this season, with Napoli said to be interested.

He told La Prensa: “The coming days will be crucial for my future.

“Negotiations are advanced, but I will wait for news from London.”

Goal.com understands that representatives from Napoli have met with Premier League intermediaries to discuss a possible move for the former Wigan Athletic man as the club are in the market for central midfielders.

One potential stumbling block is the Italian ruling which limits Serie A clubs to signing just one non-EU player per year. Napoli, who finished third in the league this season, are as a result expected to be particularly careful when choosing that player.

Tottenham paid Wigan £12 million for the midfielder’s services in 2009 and are likely to wish to recoup their investment, despite only using the Honduran sparingly this year as Tom Huddlestone, Luka Modric and Sandro have been ahead of him in the pecking order.
