Pressure mounts on Ajimobi over cabinet

IBADAN-FOUR days after the inauguration of the new Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, there appears to be anxiety among the party members over those that would form the new government of the Action Congress of Nigeria in the state.

The anxiety was informed by the alleged strained relationship between him and some members of the party who worked relentlessly for the party’s victory at the April elections.

Vanguard gathered that members of the party are already seeing the handwriting on the wall that the governor would not recognize them in the distribution of political offices.

Though, the governor stated it for the umpteenth time that he would follow the manifestoes of the party to the letter and would listen to advise from the elders of the party, it was gathered that the governor has finalized to use only technocrats as members of his cabinet.

Some of the members who preferred anonymity complained that it would not be fair to them if the  governor  jettison them their contribution towards the party’s success at the polls.

It was learnt that the governor has decided to recognize only those who spent their money to enable him realize his dream but may not give recognition to those that really put their lives on the line for the party.
