Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina says Barcelona are the best team he has ever seen following the Catalans’ comfortable Champions League final victory over Manchester United.

Pedro, Lionel Messi and David Villa were on target for the Spanish giants as they won the competition for the second time in three seasons last weekend.

And now Reina, a former Barcelona player, has hailed the Catalans, who also pipped Real Madrid to the La Liga title for the third consecutive year this season.

“They’re the best team I’ve seen in my life,” said the Reds keeper.

Reina also heaped praise on Spain international team-mates Xavi and Andres Iniesta, adding: “Xavi and Iniesta are the best players in their position in the world. They are world leaders in every sense.

“Fortunately, they are Spanish. They’re the two best players in the world at giving the final pass.”
