Angira Zadock 1 June 2011 Nairobi — A businessman was arrested on Wednesday in connection with drugs seized at the airport. Mr Rajindra Raju Patel, the proprietor of Solid Vegetables Ltd, was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Unit officers in connection with a consignment impounded on Monday night. The drugs, in 88 sachets, were allegedly packed at a go-down and taken to the Swissport Cargo Centre, ready for export to the UK aboard a Qatar Airways plane.

THE Brave Warriors’ proposed friendly match against Kenya’s Harambee Stars today has been called off, team manager Cyril Isaacs said yesterday.

Isaacs said Kenya had experienced trouble with their travel arrangements on Friday and thus could not make the trip to Windhoek. He said the Kenyan embassy in Windhoek had informed the NFA that “due to inability to get enough forex” the Harambee Stars would not make the trip.

An online report by Kenya’s Sunday Nation said the team “abruptly aborted” their friendly international “under unclear circumstances.”

“The friendly match against Kenya on Monday (today) is off,” Isaacs told The Namibian Sport.

Isaacs said the Brave Warriors will now fully focus their attention on the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burkina Faso on Saturday.

The visitors are expected to arrive tomorrow.

He added that only two players – striker Wilko Risser and utility man Razundara Tjikuzu – are yet to report for the Brave Warriors camp. The two players will arrive today he said.

“The friendly was to the benefit of both teams in terms of preparations for the Afcon qualifiers,” said Isaacs. “We will now continue to prepare for the Burkina Faso game.”
