The papers were filed on her behalf by Mr Kofi Adams, spokesperson for the Rawlingses, accompanied by some of her supporters.
Mr Adams said the former First Lady was in the Volta Region meeting with party executives and delegates to canvass support.
The completed nomination forms included the names of delegates of the party and their constituencies who had endorsed her, the profile of Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings with her photographs and receipt covering the GH¢10,000 filing fees paid into the accounts of the party.
Mr Adams said Nana Konadu had satisfied all the requirements including the required number of signatories with the designated credentials.
She thanked all those who worked to secure the signatories and urged them to work in the constituencies towards the successful endorsement of her presidential candidature for Election 2012 at the NDC congress to be held in Sunyani from July 8-10.
President John Evans Atta Mills together with former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings and former Education Minister, Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, picked nomination forms to contest for the flag bearer slot of the party. President Mills filed his papers on Monday.
The deadline for filing of nomination forms is the end of business on Wednesday.
Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the NDC, who received the forms, said Nana Konadu had accepted to contest the nomination of flag bearer of the party.
He noted that the executives of the party would go round the country to cross-check and verify the authenticity of those who have signed the forms.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah said after the verification, all those who filed their nomination would be invited for vetting between June 7 and 8.
He stressed the need for a clean campaign, saying that the contest was within the same family, adding that come July, NDC would be the winner.
