Bookmaker William Hill have been swift to react to Paul Scholes’ decision to end his top flight career by creating a market on which player will hang up his boots next.

Scholes brought his decorated career at Old Trafford to a close after featuring briefly in the Champions League final. His one-time midfield partner Owen Hargreaves is the favourite to quit next @ 2.50 (6/4).

Manchester United recently released Hargreaves from his contract after the 30-year-old star suffered a string of injuries. He’s now battling to save his career after making just 39 appearances in four years since his big money move from Bayern Munich in 2007.

Next in line to quit are former England stars David Beckham and Michael Owen who are trading @ 8.0 (7/1) to quit next. Ryan Giggs featured on the opening weekend of the Premier League season in 1992-93 with James and is 10.0 (9/1) to follow Scholes out the retirement door.
