It’s been three impressive outings for Goran Stevanovic since assuming the reins of the Ghana job five months ago.
Stevanovic joined Ghana in January and will have been encouraged as his new side started well and have been looking in good shape.
The Serbian’s debut game with the Black Stars was a convincing 4-1 win over Togo in a friendly and followed up with a 3-0 away victory against Congo in the qualifying for the African Nations Cup before drawing 1-1 with England in another friendly.
All three games have been away from Ghana. However, next Friday’s Group I qualifier against Congo will be Stevanovic’s first at home and he is hoping for top performance from the Black Stars to cap his home debut.
“I like football and I am eager to start. I know Ghanaians love their football and they want to see the game. I am sure the people of Kumasi will enjoy the game on Friday,” Stevanovic said in Accra after his team’s training session.
With two wins and a draw to his name since being confirmed as Ghana coach, Stevanovic just wants his side to maintain their form.
“All I want is for us to win because it will advance our Nations Cup hopes.”
