Nairobi — Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adam, the speaker of Somali parliament and the special envoy of United Nations to Somalia held a key meeting in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
Reliable sources said on Sunday that meeting was focused on TFG sponsored consultative meeting which is due to be held in Mogadishu next month.
The officials discussed the likelihood of holding that meeting, according to the sources.
Moving the conference from Mogadishu to another location was mooted in the discussions.
Reports said that the UN envoy pointed out the parliament has the right to hold national elections in August this year.
After the meeting, the speaker flew to neighboring Djibouti where he will meet with the country’s officials about Somalia related issues.
