    Abuja — The Speaker of the Angolan National Assembly has left Abuja, Nigeria, where he attended on Sunday the swearing-in ceremony of President Goodluck Eble Jonathan.

    Paulo Kassoma, who arrived Saturday in Nigeria, attended the referred ceremony in representation of the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.

    Goodluck Eble Jonathan is Nigeria’s 15th president and the third one to be elected democratically.

    President Jonathan, who is also the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was born on 20 November 1957, in Bayelsa State, of which he was governor from 2005 to 2007.

    In 2007, he was sworn-in as vice-president of Nigeria.

    In 2010, by force of the law, he took up the post of President of Nigeria, following the death of the previous incumbent, Umaru Yar’Adura.
