He stated this on Friday, while addressing a group of secondary school students at an event organized to mark the Children’s Day by the National Council of Child Rights Advocates of Nigeria (NACCRAN).
Udoh stressed the need for youths to acquire adequate and worthwhile knowledge that can project the country in positive light.
He said the Federal Government should place more emphasis on the educational sector so that youths in the country will have the opportunity to study without difficulty.
“It is good for children to be humble, studious and industrious in all their undertakings. They should also respect elders, parents and guardians because whichever way they behave today, may reflect or influence their future engagements in the society,” he added.
In her remark, FCT Co-ordinator of NACCRAN, Mrs. Margaret Udoh, said the body has begun compilation of a list of children not registered with the National Population Commission (NPC) with a view to ensuring that they are duly registered.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of laptops to some schools that won different categories of prizes in an essay competition staged at the event. The schools included Junior Secondary School Wuse, Government Secondary School Garki as well as Junior Secondary School Karu.
