Super Falcon chief coach, Eucharia Uche says the team’s four weeks training tour of Saalfeden, Austria ahead of this year’s FIFA Womens World Cup will sharpen the team’s technical ability before the championship slated for Germany.
Uche in an interview with Sunday Vanguard sports said that within the four weeks, the team will play friendly matches before crossing over to Germany to begin the chase for the title.
She hinted that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is solidly behind them and have provided all the necessary assistants needed to keep the team in high spirit to surpass their last records at the World cup.
The one time Super Falcons player emphasized that she, together with the technical crew, are working hard to get more information on their group opponents adding that one of the most significant things was to know their weak points in other to use it as a weapon against them.
“The four weeks tour to Austria will help us to put finishing touches to our preparation and to psyche the players ahead of the task before them.
“During the tour some friendlies will be played to correct the loopholes in the team and strengthen some weak areas. That is the reason why we are going in advance and the NFF has provided very necessary things in other to see the team go beyond their past record at the World Cup”.
The group comprising the host Germany, France and Canada are not new to Nigeria in women’s soccer according to the Falcons tactician, adding that meeting Germany will be another interesting game.
Nigeria will play her first match against France in Sinsheim on June 26, the second will be against the host Germany on the 30th in Frankfurt while their last match is against Canada in Dresden.
