The Nigeria Football Federation said yesterday that there was no truth to reports that its President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari was detained at the Force Headquarters, Abuja on Wednesday in relation to a court order annulling the NFF Executive Committee elections of August 26, 2010.

General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu said that the NFF President was invited to a meeting with the Police and granted same, in an atmosphere of mutual respect and concord.

“The NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari had very useful discussions at Force Headquarters on Wednesday afternoon, before heading to Bauchi to attend to his sick wife. He was never at any time detained by the police.

“This statement is necessary in order to put the records straight”, said Amadu.
